11 months

Wow, eleven months already!?! Where did all the time go? But, when we look back at all the other posts it's evident that Brinley has grown. Now, our bald little baby has enough hair to put in a hair clip (pony-tails are still pretty pathetic looking).

As we watch her grow and learn we can't help but feel we are getting to experience something wonderful. She is a great baby and so much fun. Lately she has become aware that she can make us laugh by mimicking our expressions and noises, which usually turn into raspberry contests to see who can hold one out the longest. Her most recent interests include the balloons at the grocery store, her teddy bear, baths, putting lids on containers and Dad's tools.

#1 Family Member!

A couple of weekends ago Rachel's brother surprised us with a visit and became the first family member to visit us in Boston. We had a blast taking in the sites around Boston including; Quincy Market, Harvard Book Coop, wandering the North End, delicious food at Al Dente, and topping it all off with cannolis at Mike's Pastry.  We were so happy to have you. Please feel free to visit us again!

Look Mom, I can climb!

Brinley learned that she could get up on the first step of the ladder yesterday.

This is what we found her doing today.

It's like we're on 24-hr. suicide watch here.

10 Months

Brinley has become quite a precocious 10.5-month-old. She is getting the hang of walking, tottering around the apartment looking proud of herself until she topples over, usually out of excitement at her progress. Some of her favorite things include thumbing through her (and dad's) books, sticking her hands into small spaces to retrive something, playing peek-a-boo where she does the hiding, and hearing her voice reverberate into large spaces. It is becoming clear that she understands at least some commands like: "Brin, dance," "high-five!" and "kisses." This makes it all the more frustrating when she doesn't respond to other commands such as: "get out of the garbage!" "no playing in the toilet!" and "don't eat my homework!"
